London, 02 August 2010 - Amati Global Investors Limited, (Amati), the newly formed investment manager, today announces the appointment of James Ferguson as Chairman. This strengthening of Amati's Board comes as it positions itself for further expansion.

James Ferguson is currently Chairman of Value and Income Trust plc, Monks Investment Trust plc, The Scottish Oriental Smaller Companies Trust plc and Northern 3 VCT while also serving as a Director of The Independent Investment Trust plc, Audax Properties plc and a Trustee of Lloyds TSB Foundation.

The former Chairman of Stewart Ivory and former Deputy Chairman of the Association of Investment Trust Companies brings extensive investment management expertise and experience to Amati.

His appointment as Chairman follows Amati's recent success in winning the investment mandate for ViCTory VCT plc and in completing a round of fund raising for the Amati VCT plc (formerly Noble AIM VCT plc), the only AIM VCT to have raised new money every year since inception. Amati VCT plc's latest fund raising closes on 12 August 2010 and is one of very few VCTs still open for new funds prior to the review of the VCT legislation due to take place in the Autumn.

Paul Jourdan, CEO of Amati said: "We are delighted that James has agreed to join us so soon after gaining our independence. His experience will be a great asset to the firm as we enter the next stage of growth."

James Ferguson said: "From a standing start at the beginning of the year Amati has rapidly established its credentials as a high quality smaller companies specialist with ambitious plans for growth. I am excited to be joining it at this early stage in its development."
