Dr Paul Jourdan - CEO
Dr Paul Jourdan is an award winning fund manager, with a strong track record in small cap investment. He co-founded Amati Global Investors following the management buyout of Noble Fund Managers from Noble Group in 2010, having joined Noble in 2007 as Head of Equities. His fund management career began in 1998 with Stewart Ivory, which was taken over by First State in 2000 at which time Paul became manager of what is now TB Amati UK Smaller Companies Fund. In early 2005 he launched what is now Amati VCT and he also manages Amati VCT 2 after the investment management contract moved to Amati Global Investors in 2010. In September 2014 Amati launched the Amati AIM IHT Portfolio Service, which Paul co-manages with Douglas Lawson and David Stevenson. Prior to 1998 Paul worked as a professional violinist, including a four year period with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra. He is CEO of Amati and a Director of Sistema Scotland.
Douglas Lawson - Director
Douglas Lawson co-founded Amati Global Investors with Paul Jourdan. Prior to this he worked in corporate finance and private equity, initially focusing on middle market UK private equity and listed company M&A at British Linen Advisors, and latterly as an investment manager in the private equity team at Noble. Douglas has co-managed the TB Amati UK Smaller Companies Fund and Amati VCT since 2009, Amati VCT 2 since 2010 and the Amati AIM IHT Portfolio Service since 2014. Douglas started his career at Ernst & Young in London, where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2002. He is a Director of Amati.
David Stevenson - Fund Manager
David Stevenson joined Amati in 2012. In 2005 he was a co-founding partner of investment boutique Cartesian Capital, which managed a range of retail and institutional UK equity funds in long only and long/short strategies. Prior to that he was Assistant Director at SVM, where he also managed equity products including the UK Opportunities small/midcap fund which was ranked top decile for the 5 year period from inception to 2005. David started his career at KPMG where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant. He latterly specialised in corporate finance, before moving into private equity with Dunedin Fund Managers. David has co-managed the TB Amati UK Smaller Companies Fund and the Amati VCTs since 2012 and the Amati AIM IHT Portfolio Service since 2014.
Anna Wilson - Fund Manager
Anna Wilson (previously Anna Croze) is an experienced fund manager specialising in UK equities. Anna joined the Amati team in 2018 from Adam and Company, where she led research for the PAM-award winning wealth manager. She brings her expertise running the successful AIM-listed portfolio service to Amati as well as a breadth of experience in managing substantial OEICs, private client and charity portfolios. She co-managed the Adam Worldwide Fund and the Stewart Ivory Investment Markets Fund which won three Lipper Awards under her stewardship.

Rachel Le Derf - Head of Sales
Rachel heads up all investor communications at Amati and is responsible for Sales & Marketing activity across the Amati funds. She originally started working with Paul Jourdan at First State Investments as Desk Assistant to the UK Equities team in 2005 then moved to Noble Fund Managers before becoming one of the original partners of Amati Global Investors. Rachel holds the IAQ from the Securities & Investment Institute and speaks fluent French.
Jason Rolf - Sales Manager (South of England & S.Wales)
Jason started his working career on the London International Financial Futures Exchange in 1987, trading interest-rate options for an LSE options market-maker. He became an independent trader shortly after and then founding partner of a large independent options-trading group. During this time he co-founded London Derivatives Options Software Ltd, a software firm that produced one of the first commercially available option pricing models in London. This business ultimately became the foundation of the software firm, FFastfill plc which floated on the AIM market in 2000. Jason's work on option-pricing and trade-execution algorithms for electronic trading introduced him to the field of systematic models where he has concentrated since 2005. He joined Amati as a partner at the end of 2010. He is a current holder of the CFA Investment Management Certificate (IMC). In 2014 Jason served as a director of the London media technology business Mirriad Ltd, an Amati VCT investee company.
Carol Cunningham - Sales Consultant (North of England & Midlands)
Carol joined Amati in November 2017 to assist with Sales & Marketing activity across all funds. She joined the industry in 1987, opening up the Manchester office of Fidelity. After eight years in sales with Fidelity she moved on to what was then Ivory & Sime to promote their range of investment trusts across the north of England. In 2002 she joined First State as Sales Director. She was responsible for the development and rapid growth of the business covering IFAs, discretionary asset managers and life companies in Scotland, North of England, Isle of Man and Ireland. Carol has a degree in French & Linguistics from the University of Wales.
Samantha Dalby - Sales Administrator
Samantha joined Amati in May 2017 to assist and support the sales team. Sam is responsible for dealing with regular investor and adviser queries for all Amati funds. Previously Sam worked at Nucleus Financial and is currently working towards the Cii Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning.
Iain Whiteford - Investment Administrator
Iain Whiteford Joined Amati in August 2017 and is responsible for day to day administration of the funds. Iain has a BA with Honours from Edinburgh Napier University and has a wealth of industry experience spanning retail banking, pensions and custody banking. Since 2014 Iain has been working in investment Management, firstly at boutique investment firm Cartesian Capital Partners where he filled their Investment Administrator role, followed up by a spell with Nucleus Financial Services, an investment wrap platform, where he was employed to provide oversight of their third party administration service.
Karen Baxter - Investment Team Assistant
Karen joined Amati in June 2017. Prior to this she had been living in Luxembourg and working for a non- profit organisation of International Orthopaedic Surgeons as the editorial assistant to the Editors of their Orthopaedic Journals. Originally from Northern Ireland she trained as a Registered Nurse /Midwife before starting a family and moving to Grand Cayman, London, Luxembourg and finally to Edinburgh.
Wulf Rajek - Head of IT and Systems Development
Wulf joined Noble in November 2007 to develop custom built in-house applications, primarily for the Fund Management team. He previously ran his own business Armadillo Solutions after having worked for twenty4help Knowledge Services GmbH (Dortmund, Germany) and Ltd (Newcastle upon Tyne, England & Linlithgow, Scotland) from 1998 until 2007. At twenty4help he worked in several departments ranging from providing Microsoft Personal Operating Systems support to being Programme Manager and Supervisor at Sun Microsystems' Global Remote Support Centre. In 2001 Wulf successfully completed a modern apprenticeship as "IT Systemkaufmann".
Gordon Izatt - Director Research and Technology
Gordon Izatt joined Amati in 2011 as Director of Research and Technology, initially to create the software and systems to run a systematic trend fund. More recently he has taken on the role of creating sophisticated screening and analytical tools to support the equities investment process at Amati. For twenty-two years prior joining Amati he worked for BP. In that time he worked in BP Exploration IT Division as a project leader, BP Corporate Center as a business analyst rebuilding the business planning and control models, he managed BP's Futures Back Office, before going on to write the risk management model used by the BP International Trading Division for managing global trading risks. Using his skills as a software programmer combined with his in-depth knowledge of global financial markets, he then setup a successful commodities futures and options quant-trading desk within the BP International Trading Division. He was a contemporary of Dr Paul Jourdan at Cambridge University in the 1980s and is a patron of the Salmon Youth Centre in Bermondsey.
George Taylor - PHP Developer
George Taylor joined Amati in 2016 as a PHP Developer to design and maintain the Amati website as well as various web-applications. Prior to this he worked at Rolls-Royce Deutschland in Frankfurt, Germany as a Continuous Improvement Facilitator where he developed and implemented various IT solutions. He was awarded a BSc in Computer Animation with Special Effects at the University of Bradford. He is also an accredited Six Sigma - Green Belt.
Ali Clark - Head of Finance & Operations
Ali joined the Amati team in 2018 and heads up the Finance and Operations areas of the business. She worked with Noble Group from 2008 to 2010. For the last seven years she headed up the Finance team at Lindsays, a Scottish law firm. Ali trained with Ernst and Young in Glasgow and is a Chartered Accountant with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland.
Andrew Lynn - Compliance Officer & MLRO
Andrew Lynn is responsible for developing the internal compliance function at Amati and is leading on the implementation of MiFID II legislation across the firm. Andrew studied both Music and English to postgraduate level and holds the CISI Certificate in Global Financial Compliance, the CISI Certificate in Investment Operations and the CFA UK Investment Management Certificate. Prior to joining Amati he worked as a professional trumpet player and held the position of Principal Trumpet of the Orchestra of Scottish Opera.

Ruth Duguid - Projects Coordinator
Ruth Duguid joined Amati in 2017. Prior to taking a career break to raise her family, Ruth worked in the private legal sector in both Glasgow and Edinburgh. Having qualified as a solicitor in Scotland specialising in the area of Property Finance, she went on to qualify as a solicitor in England and Wales and from there moved on to the area of Knowledge Management. Ruth remains a non practising member of both The Law Society of Scotland and The Law Society
